Now, let’s do an activity. I want you to guess the meaning of ‘Hot-desking’ from the sentence below…
“Her boss wants her to consider hot-desking as she now only comes into the office once or twice a week.”
WHAT IS ‘HOT-DESKING’ IN BUSINESS?
Its a trend in which workers take whatever desk is available, instead of having one assigned space or permanent desk.
EXAMPLES
And here’s another example of how to use the phrase:-
“Because of the pandemic, employers have had to revise floor plans for health and safety purposes to create new hot-desking areas.”
And another example sentence…
““Hot-desking is excellent for me socially. I work in a big company, and I have a different desk every day, so I meet new colleagues easily.”
